Travel Registry

Travel Registry

Hope you'll sign our guest cyclist register. It's not required of course but the congregation likes to know who our cycling guests are and where they are from. Leave us a note if you feel inclined. We've had cyclists from many foreign countries and most states since our Hostel began in the 1970's.

Welcome to Zion Lutheran Church.

ARE YOU HERE FOR THE WEEK-END

Church Service

We welcome you to join our Sunday service, where we come together to worship, pray and hear a message from our pastor and learn of God's word. Our service begins at 10:00am and lasts approximately 1 hour.    Communion is served to anyone who prepares their heart and wishes to join us at the Lord's Table.  Our services are open to everyone, and we welcome you to come as you are.   Many cross country cyclists have attended our services in their cycling clothes.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Community Dining Options

We have an incredible variety of restaurants here from establishments that dish up local favorites to cozy coffee shops, and steakhouses.

Fast Food or Sit-Down we have a lot of wonderful places to chose from in Hutchinson.   Visit: Wanderlog.com  for a list of our best eating places and a map to guide you.  Or, you can shop the local grocery, use our kitchen and make that one thing you have been craving for so long.  With bellies full, just kick back, relax and enjoy.

Explore Hutchinson's Highlights

If you have time Hutchinson has a pair of must see attractions.  They are:

  1. Cosmosphere:   The largest collection of space artifacts outside of the Smithsonian.  This is one you will never forget.  Just 5 easy blocks (6 Minutes) East of the church on 11th Street.
  2. Strataca:   Travel 650ft down into an active salt mine.  A cool subterranean world formed during the time of the Permian sea long ago.   (250 - 290 million years ago)  This is one of only 3 salt mines in the world to allow visitors.  You should call ahead for reservations (620-662-1425).  You will be both amazed and educated regarding earth history, its geological formation as well as the amazing things stored in its miles of tunnels.  Located just 26 minutes by bicycle at 3650 East Ave "G".  Google it.

A DEPARTING PRAYER FROM YOUR FRIENDS AT ZION

Heavenly Father, on this journey let Love fill my lungs, Joy fill my heart, Faith be the wind on my face, let peace be my Shield, Hope flood my Mind and Grace be my strength. May God bless my bike and all who travel upon them, may my Gears be Smooth, my Brakes be Strong, my Tires Puncture Proof and Blessed with a Seat of Comfort, may each segment of my Journey be Fruitful and other road users Hospitable. I humbly ask You to Bless me with continued Strength, Wisdom and Resources as I continue, an Angel to Guide and Protect me from every Danger; and bring me Safely to my Journey's end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
