Our Mission

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is a shelter in Jesus Christ welcoming all into Faith and fellowship, and preparing members for meaningful service in the world through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

Our Vision

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is a place of healing where changed lives are gifted and empowered by the Holy Spirit and released to serve in the community for the glory of Christ in order that all might come to know Him. 

Our Practice

Zion adheres to the Theology and Tenets of Martin Luther and worships using a conservative common liturgy.  We are a small traditional church that accepts God's Word as it is written without regard for liberalized interpretations.  Zion has employed a Baptist Minister and a Methodist Minister to deliver the word of God during Sunday Service.  For those who prefer a liturgical service with the style of a Baptist/Methodist Pastor, Zion can now offer a more rounded service that can meet the needs of both.

Find Hope and Healing

Baptism is an important step of obedience and public declaration of faith.  Jesus challenged his  disciples to confess their faith before others and to walk before  others as his disciples (Matthew 10: 32-3; 16: 13-17, 24). Baptism  presents an opportunity to the new believer to confess before others  that Jesus is Lord and Savior.

We understand that life can be difficult and painful at times. That's why we at Zion were instrumental in the organization of the "Reno County Food Bank" in 1981 to offer support and resources to meet the needs of the hungry in Reno County.  Sometimes in the midst of life there can be unavoidable challenges. As people of faith we are called to serve those less fortunate.
